Mxgabyte: NAN Over TEE: NAN ON TOP LETS FUCKING GOOOO
Bonk: TEE Over NAN: Returning champs coming to get their first win of the season on the backs of NAN. This will be a very close game I don’t see either team winning in a blowout, and a NAN win is still very much a possibility.
James: NAN Over TEE: NAN UP (I hate NAN). NAN look to be strong but I think it’ll be a close game that could lapse into OT. TEE prove me wrong!
Hayden: TEE Over NAN: Tough first match to predict. I don’t know how good any of these teams are really since preseason is super fake but I like the names on TEE to win this matchup
Slik: NAN Over TEE: Matchup of NAN (7) vs. TEE (10), I am going to have to side the way of NAN. I believe the PiNG masterclass will prevail here against ExNinja and friends. Can’t really predict what map we will end on as we have no data to go off, but should be a pretty solid matchup.
Holycow: TEE Over NAN: I think this squad is very strong this season. Not to mention that my homeboy Zakire has that LAN experience (he was my teammate :)) and I can’t bet against him. I think NAN are going to struggle with this matchup
Mxgabyte: HR Over ATL: Personally I think HR is going to be one of the better teams this season but who knows what to expect going into MD1. I just want this to be a good game with some cool plays in it.
Bonk: ATL Over HR: My pookie Sponce is going to do whatever it takes to bring home this first win of the season. I predict a strong performance from ATL as a whole in a 13-5 win.
James: HR Over ATL: This is hard, I wanna cheer for AVI Falcons supersub Zaaard but the same time HR have created a monster roster. Xie is always a rock and jkb is just a damn demon mechanically.
Hayden: HR Over ATL: I’m not picking against my own boys and I also think the roster is super strong. They aren’t too practiced but I think I collected 5 of the best players in this tier.
Slik: HR Over ATL: Matchup of ATL (14) vs. HR (2), I undoubtably will be siding the way of HR. Treedmarked is going to put in a lot of work to make sure this squad is ready for the season, and bsb is going to show up like the MVP we know he can be. A loss to ATL here would be a really horrific start for HR. This map SHOULDN’T be a close one, and if it is I would say that is a win for ATL.
Holycow: HR Over ATL: Actually very excited for this HR team. With Chudzera and their late pickup of jkb- there are some shooters in this squad. I personally do not know a lot of the ATL squad so my opinions are very limited on them. Hopefully ATL can make me route for them but they have to show it first.
Mxgabyte: UPS Over JDM: UPS feels like the safer pick on paper, but MD1 is notorious for throwing preseason predictions out the window. I could easily see the old BCH chally boys coming out firing and throwing my pick right out the window though
Bonk: JDM Over UPS: Like I said in rankings, I think JDM is going to be a team to beat this season and I think they will find their first win on MD1.
James: JDM Over UPS: Chally bias but Pizza/DTTHR33 clear this out easily.
Hayden: UPS Over JDM: My UPS glaze from seasons past continues as I think they take their opening matchup. I don’t know much about this roster but they know how to build an elite team so I have trust they have done it again
Slik: UPS Over JDM: Matchup of UPS (5) vs. JDM (12), I am unfortunately going to have to side in the way of the evil empire UPS. Can’t argue with the fact that UPS has another strong lineup. It certainly isn’t unbeatable, but JDM would have to put up some serious work if they want to take care of UPS here. TacosBrick and Pizza would have to go absolutely nuclear if they want to take UPS down, which isn’t impossible, just an uphill task.
Holycow: JDM Over UPS: JDM have a good lineup, with Chally champs DTTHR33 and Pizza in the roster, this team is more than capable of any opponent shake. I have also pugged with Brick and they are a shooter and a half.
Mxgabyte: FNL Over HG: FNL gets a slight edge based on what we’ve seen so far, but both teams are still figuring things out and could surprise people. We lost to both teams in preseason and they both looked good. I think this will be an exciting first matchup
James: FNL Over HG: This one is a bit of a mystery, both teams have good players so it’ll be a good one to watch. I give FNL the edge due to them having season 19 chally MVP THG (Caution choking hazard)
Hayden: HG Over FNL: I think HG have the more well rounded roster here but the true wildcard for me for FNL this season is going to be Kixetic. If she can play up to par with the rest of the tier they’ll be contenders. As it stands though I like HG to win here.
Slik: FNL Over HG: Matchup of HG (8) vs. FNL (11), this will actually be the only upset (from my rankings) that I will be picking. Now I am not super high on FNL but I do think that they will take advantage of the beginning of the season to beat out HG here. My qualm with HG (for now) is the lack of star power. I think FNL may have an overall weaker core, but more initial star power and I think that will shine out here. I am going to look for THG to really show off with the awp while calling, this should be a great show. Either way, this should be a good game. Might we see a Darknight masterclass?
Holycow: FNL Over HG: Chally MVP and bonk is a team up that I did not expect but I have experienced first hand how dangerous they can be.
Mxgabyte: AVI Over BOO: Personally i think people are sleeping a little bit on AVI and over hyping BOO. I do like both rosters but I’m giving the edge to AVI in a closer match 1.
Bonk: BOO Over AVI: BOO takes this one in a convincing fashion.
James: AVI Over BOO: Obvisouly bird up (Can’t pick against myself and my team here) should be an exciting first game nonetheless.
Hayden: BOO Over AVI: Blink vs holycow, semaJ is a sick first matchup for this season but I think BOO has the edge in this matchup. Player to watch for me this game is Aux. If he plays like he did in season 18 this team can do damage.
Slik: BOO Over AVI: Matchup of BOO (1) vs. AVI (13), I have to pick the boring answer of BOO, and I do not think this will be a close match at all. BOO just has so much more power behind their riflers I think they blow AVI out of the water here. Sue me for thinking GregJ won’t be enough to hold back the likes of cayd, Griffin0g, and Jt5. I just don’t see it happening. This is the match I think is the least likely to end in an upset, and would be genuinely shocked if a full powered BOO were to lose to AVI here.
Holycow: BOO Over AVI: Blink supremacy. AVI this season seem like a joke squad with bum holycow and james reuniting with their former teammate CrayZ. Should be easy for BOO
Mxgabyte: WIZ Over OS: DYL is better than spence and thats the only reason i need to pick WIZ over OS. #FUCKSPENCE movement.
Bonk: WIZ Over OS: As much as I want to see OS win this one, I think WIZ takes it. They are very skilled and have amazing raw aim and I think that alone will win them this game.
James: WIZ Over OS: Who likes that Spence guy, he sucks (Go other real James though). Realisticly this WIZ team is full of carries and cracked players, it’ll be a hard game for OS.
Hayden: OS Over WIZ: This matchup for sure feels like a 50/50 to me. The WIZ guys have been grinding together and putting in lots of work but OS looks to have a really solid team. I really don’t know how to predict this one so I’m taking the riskier option but dont be shocked at all if WIZ win this easy.
Slik: OS Over WIZ: Matchup of WIZ (6) vs. OS (3), I am going to have to side with us, but I do think this will be a very evenly matched map here. I think this WIZ core is solid, but I think my stars will show up. Matt, Jxmes, and spliced all have something to prove this season, and I think they are going to hit the ground running this seasons with sharp games right at the beginning. I just hope vexxey or TryHardKyle don’t have a life game, I may drive off a cliff. Remember, don’t get tased by spence or you owe me $20 on paypal.
Holycow: WIZ Over OS: This pick for me is more about the yappers. I see Mono spamming the GIFs and vexxey in the skins chat. Respect.
Mxgabyte: DRG Over H4K: I know very very little about both of these teams so im just gonna flip a coin and go with DRG.
Bonk: DRG Over H4K: I think DRG takes this one in a close 13-10 or 13-11.
James: H4K Over DRG: This is my only anomaly. Not sure of the players on each team except Dark (shoutout chally s19 winner). So I flipped a coin and it landed head which was h4k.
Hayden: DRG Over H4K: These both feel like bottom of the pack teams but Kwang probably knows something I don’t. Either way just roster watching I’m going to pick DRG for MD1.
Slik: DRG Over H4K: Matchup of H4K (9) vs. DRG (4), I am going to pick DRG to take this game. I don’t doubt the firepower that will come from the core of DRG. Soybean is going to find form again this season and he will prove to the doubters that he is a star in elite. I know for a fact if he has a better system than he had last year he will shine. c0c0nut will surely go blow for blow, but the supporting cast of DRG should ring true to keep H4K at bay. I don’t really see this going any other way unless DRG is just not meshing with their roles.
Holycow: DRG Over H4K: Although H4K do have a former chally champ, I have yet to learn about the rest of the squad. DRG on the other hand have shooters and can play very well together.
